The Ian Callum/Henrick Fisker designed DB9 was first displayed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2003, to replace the outgoing DB7 model. The sculpted, sinuous lines remained uncomplicated, while retaining the instantly recognisable Aston Martin lineage, with familiar features such as the steeply raked windscreen, side strakes, which help dissipate heat, and of course, the front grill. Finished in Onyx Black Metallic the bodywork presents overall to a very high standard, a reflection of diligent single ownership, a continuous Main Dealer service regime, plus the extremely low mileage covered.

Swathed in leather, further enhanced by high quality materials, the interior of the DB9 successfully combines tradition with contemporary design, creating an enviable driving environment. As expected, front seats are electrically fully adjustable, heated and with memory function. Having only ever been very light used, all surfaces remain in a unmarked condition. The leather dashboard and Alcantara headlining, both areas know to fail on occasion, pleasingly show no such issues, while all carpets and door cards appear similar to when new.

Powered by the 5935 cc 48v naturally aspirated LAM11 V12 engine, developing approx 450 bhp @ 6000 rpm with 420lbs/ft of torque @ 5000 rpm.  Matted to a 6 speed ZF 6HP26 transmission, the desired gears can be manually selected via the Touch-tronic system or rely on the fully automated mode if preferred. Aston Martin’s eminently capable Grand Touring Coupe is therefore sufficiently equipped to dispatch the 0-60 mph dash in a mere 4.6 secs then on towards a claimed top speed of approx 186 mph. Other attributes worthy of note for the long distance traveller include the 172 litre rear load space and 90 litre fuel tank. Having been exclusively attended by the same Aston Martin Main Dealer from new, for the one and only private owner, and having covered such minimal mileage during that period, it would be hard to locate another example with such fine pedigree. Surely one for the collector.
