Aston Martin announced in 2012 that several of the current sports models would be available as special Centenary editions, these were shown to the public one model at a time. The unveiling process began with the Vanquish with the Rapide S. The V8 Vantage Centenary Edition was never formally unveiled and ha s become one of the rarest production cars of the Gaydon era.

There are faster and more technologically advanced cars in the Aston’s sector, but few offer its poise, balance and enthusiasm for being driven hard. The 4.7-litre V8 (still developing 420bhp) not only provides an immense soundtrack but remains engaging, while the chassis is still one of the best exemplars of all that’s great about a front-mid-engined layout.

The Aston Martin Heritage Trust register has recorded a total of only 19 V8 Vantage Centenary Edition coupes, 7 with ‘S’ spec and 12 with ‘regular’ spec. All but two had the Sportshift II gearbox option leaving this example as the only car in the UK with the six-speed manual gearbox. The other car was built and produced for the US. Its exclusivity is backed up by a verification email from Aston Martin’s Gaydon Headquarters, confirming it is the only manual produced in the UK.

It’s difficult to summarise just how unique this Centenary Edition Vantage is. Owned from new, purchased as a present to herself, the current owner has cherished and adored this car. Always kept in a heated garage, under cover, only driven on special occasions and never in poor weather.

This is undoubtedly a one-off opportunity to secure a collectors quality piece of automotive history, an unrepeatable prospect.
