BMW E10 2002 ‘Roundie’
Best colour combination, super 70’s
Near and off-side door mirrors, twin speed wipers, heater, cigarette lighter, 12v aux plug, heated read screen, rear ashtrays, 3 spoke leather steering wheel, black vinyl seats with light grey inserts, plus very rare original adjustable headrests.
Arguably, the very best colour scheme to highlight the wonderful 2002 Coupe body, Golf Yellow.
All body panels are in good solid condition, with no visible evidence of any corrosion.
Panel gaps are consistent. There are no dents, scratches or car park dinks to mention, and the paint finish has a deep solid shine, with no fading.
The only area worthy of mention, is the finish on some areas of the bonnet; while the complete structure is excellent, there is evidence of some micro-blistering, however, this in no way detracts from the overall appearance of this stunning E10.
All chrome and trims are of a good standard, although bumpers are currently removed, a set can be provided.
A large glass to body ratio creates the light and airy feel of the interior, so different to that of a modern Coupe. This, not only aids visibility, but helps to make driving the 2002 such a pleasant experience.
Seats are all black vinyl, with textured light grey inserts. Although, with some evidence of minor wear to drivers seat only, all seats remain supportive and complete.
The fronts being fully adjustable and retaining their, now very rare, original adjustable Head-rests.
All seats are firm and supportive.
Dials are clearly displayed and appear to operate correctly. The 3 spoke sports, black leather, steering wheel gives a nod to the models sporty underpinnings and history. If so required, it would be possible to instal a dashboard clock, without any further alterations
The head-lining looks to be original, and in a good condition.
Floor carpets, again original speckled grey pattern, all in nice order.
The original dash is complete, with only a minor crack which can be easily repaired.
Spare with jack housed in the cavernous boot space.

SERVICE HISTORY & PROVENANCE
A very local, well known car, owned since March 2016.
The previously a lady, who owned the 2002 for 21 years since 16 March 1995!
Last serviced by renown model specialist and Senior BMW Master Tech, which included carburettor set up. The 2002 has been the subject of two major restorations. Initially by the well-respected Norfolk specialist Jaymic back in the 90’s, and more recently, by the highly regarded artisans at Dukes of London.
The is evidence of a clutch replacement, brake master cylinder, heater box and fan, cylinder head removal, plus re-build, oil pressure switch.
There are two keys present, original Owners Handbook, plus invoices and old MOT’s back to the early 1990’s.
THE DRIVE & ENGINE
1990 cc. two litre, SOHC four cylinder, naturally aspirated engine produced a whopping 100hp. Mated to a 4-speed manual box.
However, this proved more than adequate to provide a very spirited driving experience, much heralded back in the 1970’s, and still today by many enthusiasts.
With as direct steering as you could ever wish for, eager response from any right foot input as the Dellorto side draught carbs gasp for more air.
A recent diagnostic read-out shows this particular car still produces 101 hp @ 5298 rpm, that’s one more than when left the factory, plus, develops 109.31 lb/ft of torque @ 4139 rpm, factory was only 116.
So lost very little of its vigour over the past 48 years!
Could be used and thoroughly enjoyed as is, or would make the ideal basis for a Track / Sprint conversion.
Very popular, and now extremely rare, especially in this condition, we would highly recommend an early viewing to avoid disappointment.
