Still commanding the same supercar road presence now as it did when it was £214,600 new, this MP4-12C presents in exceptional condition. Finished in the special order, metallic shade of Titanium Silver, the paintwork retains a deep and consistent shine throughout. Benefitting from over £1,180 of Gtechniq Ceramic Coating alongside its ultra-low mileage, this example shows virtually no signs of use. Carbon fibre turning vanes, diffuser, splitter and mirror casings all provide a luxurious contrast to the Titanium Silver paintwork and present free from any blemishes.

Echoing the incredible condition of the exterior, the interior of this MP4-12C presents free from any blemishes, showing only the lightest signs of use. Carbon fibre can be found in abundance with the interior carbon fibre upgrade, alongside the wheel arches, seat backs and sill panels. Swathed in premium materials, all alcantara and leather remains soft and supple, whilst the contrast stitching adds a welcome pop of colour. Mod cons such as cruise control, heated seats and dual zone air conditioning make this 12C a pleasure to drive.

McLaren Special Colour Calipers match perfectly alongside the stealth lightweight alloys finished in Tungsten. All alloys present free from any kerbing or blemishes.

Shod with all matching Pirelli P-Zero’s, tyres have ample tread all round.

Only produced for 3 years from 2011 – 2014, and designed by Frank Stephenson the MP4 – 12C was McLarens first road car since the iconic F1 back in 1998 and proved to be much in demand, with an 18 month waiting list for new owners. With a name derived from Marlboro McLarens original F1 chassis designation number and the amalgamation of Ron Dennis’s “McLaren Project 4” organisation, the MP4-12C pioneered advanced and unique design solutions.

McLaren applied F1 engineering for the first time to a public road focussed Supercar, with legendary results. A rigid carbon fibre mono-cell chassis, manufactured by Carbo Tech in Saltzberg Austria, and weighing just 75Kgs was incorporated along with the F1 designed brake steer system. McLarens Pro-Active Chassis Control System was developed in collaboration with Cambridge University, and dramatically aids ride comfort, producing individual damping effects to each wheel as required, resulting in a compliant, usable Supercar you would happily drive on a daily basis.

Power is provided by the rear mid-mounted 3799cc, twin turbocharged V8, built in the UK by Ricardo. Initially producing 592 bhp @ 7000rpm, often electronically up rated to develop 616 bhp @ 7500 rpm and 443 lbft of torque. Performance is shattering, claimed 0-62mph in just 3.1 secs, 0-100mph in 6.1 secs, 0-125 only takes 8.8 secs, on towards a McLaren claimed top speed of 207mph.

Power delivery is extremely flexible, although the 12C red lines at 8500 rpm, 80% of the torque is available at only 2000 rpm. Transmission is provided by a Graziano built 7 speed dual clutch gearbox dubbed the “SSG” Seamless Shift Gearbox, the F1 style pre-select system performs instantaneously gear changes. All independent coil sprung double wishbone suspension, and aluminium sub-frames front and rear, plus the aerodynamic dihedral doors, help reduce weight down to just 1474kgs kerb weight, and return acceptable mpg figures of a claimed 30 mpg. Energy efficient to, it is claimed the 12C emits less CO2 per horsepower developed than a Toyota Prius Hybrid.

Now being fully appreciated and recognised for just how special and innovative they are, values of good MP4-12C’s are ever on the increase, suggesting now might be an excellent time to buy… This must surely be one of the highest specification, lowest mileage examples available?
