The Satellite Silver paintwork remains in great condition, presenting well with only a couple of exterior blemishes to the front bumper to report. Having resided on the salt-free roads of Japan up until 2018, both the body and underside of this rare Pajero remain in superb condition.

Equipped with attractive Recaro seats the interior of the PajEvo has a rugged but purposeful aesthetic. The seats are upholstered in hardwearing cloth that also extends to the door cards. The upgraded Momo steering adds to the performance streak whilst also providing a better feel, the standard steering wheel comes with the car. The rear seats are also in very good order and fold forward twice for an enlarged rear load space. The boot carpet remains virtually unmarked and in the rear door you’ll find the complete Mitsubishi toolkit.

The six-spoke alloys are original to the car and remain free from any curb marking or damage. The polished faces show a little age-related wear but certainly nothing untoward for the age. The Mitsubishi centre caps are all present and correct and the wheels are shod in a matching set of rugged Yokohama Geolander all-terrain tyres, which help to fill those vast flared arches.

The Pajero was first registered in December 1997. It was supplied new in Japan where it remained until June 2018 after being imported into the UK by 4 Star Classics. The History File is complete with the original handbook, service booklet, Mitsubishi wallet, numerous Japanese service and inspection reports, as well as supplementary Japanese invoices.

The car has been serviced in Japan at the following mileages: 441, 4k, 8k, 12k, 34k, 41k, 46k, 50k. Since arriving in the UK, this PajEvo has been serviced by 4 Star Classics at 52k miles and again by Alex Jupe Motorsport just over 1,000 miles ago. The only UK owner since importation had the car undersealed upon arrival, to further protect this lovingly looked after example.

This rare Evolution is chassis number 1566 of just 2,500 examples produced for Dakar Rally homologation purposes.

he Evolution is powered by the Mitsubishi 6G74 3. 5-litre V6. The 24-valve DOHC engine features Mitsubishi’s Innovative Valve Timing and Electronic Lift Control, which varies the timing of the intake and exhaust camshafts to increase the power and torque output over a broad engine speed range. The engine bay of this example maintains a particularly fresh appearance. The car pulls well on test and shifts smoothly through each of the five gears. The Super Select 4WD system also operates just as it should, combining the advantages of part-time and full-time four-wheel drive with four additional drive options.
