This 3.6 Carrera Cab is Pure 90’s nostalgia featuring a remarkable factory-fitted RS Clubsport Aerokit alongside colour coded Cup Design wheels. Having been specified from new by the current owner in 1996, the car looks like the full fat brochure demonstrator brought to life! Paintwork is bright and consistent throughout with only a handful of stone chips to the bonnet and sill trims belying the cars age and mileage. The front PU and splitter present impeccably, as does the RS Clubsport rear wing that entirely dominates the racer for road concept.

The cabin space is beautifully presented, as one would expect from single ownership, with leather seat covers taut and pleasingly free of scratches or creases. Switchgear, in both appearance and operation, is in excellent order throughout. The elegantly stitched airbag wheel features an embossed Carrera logo which sits proudly in front of the 5 dials in Speed Yellow – entirely befitting of this 993’s image and a welcome alternative that suits the character of the car perfectly. The rear tonneau retains excellent colour and appearance with clear rear window and all fastenings working as they should.

The original Cup Design wheels present very well in original unrestored condition, wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport rubber displaying minimal wear and an even tread pattern across all four corners. 205/50 ZR 17 Front, 255/40 ZR 17 (94Y) RearThe black Porsche calipers are in good condition and whilst the brake discs display minor lipping, the pads show plenty of life all round.

The history file is represented by every invoice for work carried out over the car’s life, whilst a generous amount of MOT certification annotates the mileage intervals.

The file also includes the original Sales Invoice from July of 1996 and a complete owner’s pack with fully stamped original service book, manuals and literature. Car is HPi clear with certificate and is available to view immediately.

The 272bhp naturally aspirated flat six and six speed manual gearbox are in fine fettle thanks to careful use and regular servicing. The car starts and idles as it should, with layers of performance throughout the rev range. Steering, suspension and braking are all tight and continue to provide the touch and tactility that typifies the 993 chassis.

0-60mph can be achieved in around 5.4 seconds, 0-100mph in 12.4 seconds, with a top speed of 165mph, the car is certainly no slouch, even compared to more modern machinery.

A glorious way to experience roof down, open top driving, and to fully appreciate the un-mistakable sound-track of the Air-Cooled, manual 911.
