EXTERIOR

Finished in the rare and desirable shade of Atlas Grey (factory code MTX 7) the entire vehicle stands in a top condition having benefitted from diligent and sympathetic ownership, afforded by only a handful of knowledgeable custodians.

The extensive application of top quality XPEL Ultimate Plus PPF (fitted in 2019) to all common vulnerable areas has further enhanced the level of protection, thereby diminishing the risk of any further stone chip damage in future. All surfaces remain in extremely good order and shut lines which appear as they should. The dramatic dual plane rear wing, body side skirts, twin exhausts, and lowered aggressive stance all hint at the track focussed GT3’s intentions and capabilities.

INTERIOR

Functional and driver focussed, this unique and special example has been upgraded to clubsport specification using Porsche equipment. The black leather buckets, red racing harnesses and rear cage don’t leave you wondering as to this cars intentions. You are instantly aware of entering a very specific zone, engaging, and designed for only one specific purpose. Once settled, seating is obviously extremely supportive; however, the level of comfort, even for longer journeys, does come as a very pleasant surprise.

Security has also been enhanced by a Global Telemetrics Smart Track Trident TSC 027 Tracker plus, front and rear facing dash-cams, courtesy of the VIOFO Dual Channel system installed.

Stowage space remains practical, having generous capacity under front bonnet, glove box and door panniers, however rear space is understandably compromised by the fitted safety cage.

THE DRIVE & ENGINE

Now widely and correctly being acknowledged, with critical acclaim, as one of the best 911’s ever developed, for both handling and performance characteristics, the 996 GT3 Gen 11 is fast achieving legendary cult status.

Powered by a tried and trusted, GT1 race derived, Hans Mezger developed, 24 valve,3.6 ltr normally aspirated flat six, producing around 381 bhp @ 7400 rpm, and 284.00 lb/ft or 385 Nm of torque @ 5k rpm. Drive is delivered to the rear wheels only, with a LSD, via a slick 6 speed manual transmission, plus, being relatively light weight at around 1380 kgs, this translates to achieving impressive claimed 0 – 60 mph in 4.5 secs and a top speed of 190 mph. To dissipate the available power on tap, adequate braking is provided by drilled and ventilated discs, 350mm at the front, 330 mm at the rear with six and four pot callipers respectively. Adjustable suspension set up affords the driver the ability to tailor the ride to individual tastes and conditions. Only 1868 GT3’s were produced between 1999 – 2005 of which, very few can be in Atlas Grey, a desirable shade, seldom seem or available on the retail market. Always engaging and totally absorbing, the 996 GT3.2 is a must have experience for any serious Porsche/driving enthusiast.
