So, how many are RHD U.K. cars on the road? Less than 294 (according to “how many left”)



Electrically operated front sport seats, electric windows and door mirrors, 5 speed manual transmission, Kenwood KDC 3080R radio/C.D, Clifford Alarm, Bosch ABS, power steering, auto LSD with 40% lock, headlight levelling and wash system, A/C, and of course the power convertible roof. Factory Code LM3A, was designated as India Red for the 944, however, know more commonly as Guards Red. In general, this present extremely well, having recently benefited from a full machine polish, and application of a protective ceramic topcoat system. This delightful Cabriolet now gleams as it should.
As to be expected from any car of this age and mileage, there is the odd stone-chip and very minor defect to be found upon close inspection, none of which detract from the overall appearance. Following a professional inspection was described as “Exceptionally well received, with no sign of misuse or neglect”
The roof covering still looks in remarkable condition, and matching black Tonneau cover appears as new.
Lenses and all glass remains clear and free of any cracks or crazing.
Wiper blades have recently been replaced.


Full black leather interior retains it integrity throughout. With a pleasing patina, there are no areas suffering from scratches, cracking of heavy wear.
The entire interior is a credit to all previous owners, who have evidently cherished this particular 944.
Even the notoriously delicate digital clock mechanism operates as it should, with a clear display. Dashboard, door cards and caps are clean and totally damage free. All dials are clear and operating correctly, as does all switch gear.
A/c operates efficiently having received a new compressor, drive-belt and re-gas. Carpets have been well protected by branded over-mats.




Factory 16” inch Design 90 alloys, all in a good condition, with correct, matching coloured shield centre-caps.
An excellent set of tyres, all with deep tread depths range from 6.45mm – 7.01mm, all have even wear patterns.
Front – 205/55 ZR16, Rear – 225/50 ZR16.
No evidence of any damage to sidewalls, cuts or perishing.

There is an excellent accompanying service record, total of 31 Stamps in the book, 20 of which cover routine services. There is also original invoicing for more recent works that has not been entered into to the record book.
Cared for by the supplying, and Lancaster Porsche main dealers, thereafter, by well recognised and respected marquee specialist, such as Paragon, TWG Porsche and RPM Porsche.
Remarkably, there is evidence of the cam belt and associated items being replaced on no fewer than six occasions. 30,769 / 55,994 / 84,657 / 93,907 / 128,950 / and 130,218 miles, the most recent in June 2018.
Other works worthy of note include: A/C compressor, drive belt and re-gas, power steering pump replaced, Porsche replacement ignition switch.
New Bosch battery fitted November 19, with 3 year warranty.
All consumables, such as brakes, tyres etc, have all been replaced as and when required, along with brake fluid changes.

Fires up readily, with no smoke upon start up, settling to a quiet and smooth idle, without fluctuation. Once on the move, progress from the 208 hp naturally aspirated four pot is extremely swift, even by today’s standards. Derived from the 944S, the 3 litre M44/41 double overhead cam 16valve, pulls effortlessly through all gears. 0-60 mph can be achieves in a very spirited 6.0 secs, then onwards towards 150+mph, where allowable. Suspension is firm, yet compliant enough not to be intrusive. Vented discs perform braking effectively, with no vibration or judder. Steering is a high point of any 944, direct swift and responsive. Even with the aid of power assistance, there is still plenty of reassuring weightiness at speed.
Regularly maintained, to a very high standard throughout its life in service. Much care and expenditure have preserved this wonderful 994 S2 so that, even now, after 31 years, it still performs extremely well and is ready to be thoroughly enjoyed.
