EXTERIOR

Finished in the metallic shade of Agate Grey combined with the rare addition of the RS Spyder Design alloys, this Carrera S certainly exudes something rather special, over and above others available on the market. The paintwork retains a deep shine, benefitting from fastidious preparation from our in-house detailers. Cosmetically it is evident this 911 has been lovingly looked after, with no major blemishes, dents or scratches. The contrasting black cabriolet roof functions as it should, presenting free of any scuffs, creases or tears.

 

INTERIOR

The 991 saw a huge leap in technological advancements inside the cabin, whilst still retaining the perfect balance of premium and practicality that Porsche do so well. Swathed in the highest quality black leather, the interior presents in excellent condition. The 14-way adjustable sports seats provide support and comfort in equal measure, with no scuffs or scratches to the susceptible bolsters. All switchgear remains free from wear, whilst mod cons such as heated seats and air conditioning perform as intended.

 

 

WHEELS & TYRES

Arguably what sets this 911 apart are the unmarked 20” Spyder Design alloys – a tasteful second-generation upgrade, giving the car a subtle facelift.

Tyres are Pirelli P- Zeros all round, showing plenty of tread.

Front – 245/35 ZR 20 (91Y)

Rear – 305/30 ZR 20 (103Y)

Red brake callipers with the black Porsche insignia are all un-marked and in excellent condition. Centre caps in silver with black Stuttgart Crests.

 

 

SERVICE HISTORY & PROVENANCE 

Supplied by Porsche Centre Bolton, and first registered on the 19th of July 2012, with the last major service carried out on the 29th July 2020 – less than 5,000 miles ago, this 991 Carrera S Cabriolet has evidently been in the hands of careful ownership.  Boasting full Porsche service history with a total of 4 stamps in the book, all on time and within the recommended servicing schedule. The intervals are as follows:

21/03/2014 – 6,041 miles – Porsche Centre Bolton

31/03/2016 – 13,536 miles – Porsche Centre Tewkesbury

26/03/2018 – 20,729 miles – Porsche Centre Swindon

29/07/2020 – 34,704 miles – Porsche Centre Solihull.

Additional recent works carried out by Porsche Solihull include both front lower suspension ball joints 25/11/2020 at 37,656 miles.

Following a Porsche full vehicle inspection carried out in July 2020, there were no amber or red notes highlighted on their traffic light inspection system.

The car comes with the original black leather owners wallet containing all handbooks, two keys and two PVTS tracker fobs.

 

THE DRIVE & ENGINE

The 991, designed by Michael Mauer, was launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show on 15th September 2011 to replace the out-going 997 model. The convertible then followed, being launched at L.A Motor Show later in November 2011, and proved to be an instant success.

This particular 991 benefits from the excellent, 7 speed ZF, PDK twin clutch auto/manual, capable of gear selections in 100 milli-seconds. Roof opens and closes in just 13 seconds, and be operated while on the move, at low speeds only of course. While the desirable option, of switchable sports exhausts, adds some aural drama, especially roof down, Sports Chrono Plus Pack is available to exploit for more driver focused occasions. The familiar aluminium block and head,  naturally aspirated, six cylinder, horizontally opposed 3.8, double over-head cam in the Carrera S, develops a very accessible 400 bhp and 440 Nm / 325 ftlb or torque, revving to a limited 7800 rpm and capable, where permitted, of achieving 186 mph, and 0-62 mph in 4.5 secs.

Auto start/stop will also result in fewer visits to the fuel station, figures indicate potential returns, in the region of 32.5 to 42.2 mpg depending on driving styles and conditions. This example starts willingly, drives faultlessly, steers and brakes exactly as expected, while the suspension provides a firm yet responsive ride and is ready to be enjoyed in all conditions.
