Porsche 993 Carrera Coupe
One UK owner from 1999
EQUIPMENT
Electric door mirrors, electric windows, electrically adjustable and heated front sports seats, electric sun roof, graduated top tint windscreen, A/C not tested, brand new Porsche over-mats, full black leather interior, audio system, onboard computer information system, heated rear screen, interior courtesy lighting, cigar lighter, headlight wash system, LSD limited slip differential with 40% lock, ABD auto-braking diff (traction control), new N-rated tyres, 6 speed manual transmission, 17”inch alloy wheels with lightweight wheel nuts, space saver wheel, original compressor and hazard kit.
EXTERIOR
Beautifully presented in factory L744 Black Pearl Metallic. The usual 993 vulnerable areas have been addressed over the years, including rear screen surround lower panel and front scuttle, although only minor and superficial.
The bodywork has benefitted recently from a full paint restoration and professional machine polish, so now gleams, showing no sign of the usual stone-chips or other blemishes. All lenses and glass remains in fine order, with no crazing or discoloration.
INTERIOR
A highlight of this particular example, the interior remains in remarkable condition, having always been very considerately used, by its fastidious owner, of over 20 years.
Being the desirable left hand drive manual coupe, the 993 is exactly as designed and intended, without the compromise of conversion to RHD. Purposeful and ergonomic, while retaining a high degree of familiarity and comfort.
The five dial binnacle layout is focused, with the committed driver firmly in mind, having clear and immediate displays.
All materials, including the leather seats, steering wheel and extended dashboard, retain much of their original high quality finish, acquiring only a subtle amount of patination over the last 26 years. The centre console, leather gear selector, headlining, door-cards and capping are excellent, with switch gear and electrics function correctly.
Rear seats, as to be expected, appear virtually un-used, and by dropping forward afford a very usable, flat stowage area.
WHEELS & TYRES
All four 17”inch alloy wheels remain in an excellent condition, having just been re-furbished, with no scratches, scuffs or kerbing marks what so ever. Centre caps display the black Porsche shield on a silver background and are all present. The four pot brake callipers are all gleaming bright gloss black, with un-marked Porsche logo, clearly visible in white script.
Tyres are all matching Continental Premium Contact 6, 205/50 ZR 17 front, and 255/40 ZR 17 rear, all four tyres are brand new, so obviously provide abundant tread depth of approx 7mm.

THE DRIVE & ENGINE
The 272 bhp flat six, naturally aspirated sohc 3.6cc engine, is accessed, in this instance, via the six speed manual transmission.
A light alloy sub-fame, coil + wishbone, with an all new multi-link suspension improved the driving experience over the out-going 964 model. Other improvements included dual flow exhaust with twin catalytic converters, larger brakes with drilled discs and a revised power steering.
Performance figures are, as you might expect, impressive, with 0-60 mph achieved in approx 5.4 sec, 0-100 mph in 12,4 sec, and a top speed of 168 mph, you may struggle slightly to achieve such numbers in reality of course.
Steering, suspension and braking all seemed to perform effectively during our short Test Drive, as did the engine, which starts readily and delivers plenty of urgent performance.
