EXTERIOR

With the combination of wider rear haunches, bigger air intakes and more purposeful styling, the 997 Turbo feels somewhat refined in comparison to its predecessor. Finished in the elegant shade of Basalt Black Metallic, this Turbo presents in exceptional condition throughout. The metallic paintwork retains a deep, lustrous shine and remains free from any marks, chips or scratches. 

Unique to this superb example are the subtle Pure Orange highlights to the wing mirror flicks and brake callipers – giving the car a certain flare and pop of colour which dramatically enhance the overall appearance.

 

INTERIOR

Stepping inside you are immediately met with the perfect balance of comfort and performance, benefitting from optional features such as BOSE sound system, memory seats, climate control, and an electric sunroof. The extended leather surrounds the cabin in a sophisticated two-tone Black and Stone Grey combination. 

The interior of this Turbo presents in immaculate condition. The adjustable sports seats are supportive, with the leather remaining soft and supple. There are no rips, scuffs or creases to the susceptible seat bolsters, all switchgear remains clear and without fault. A testament to careful ownership and such low mileage. 

 

 

WHEELS & TYRES

The forged 19” five spoke diamond turned, lightweight alloys are free from any kerb marks or blemishes. The matching Pirelli P-Zero’s all show plenty of tread. 

 

 

SERVICE HISTORY & PROVENANCE 

First supplied by Porsche Centre Reading on 13th January 2009, this 997 Turbo has enjoyed meticulous servicing with a total of 5 service stamps in the book, 4 of which from OPC’s with only the most recent being carried out by a reputable local specialist less than 5,000 miles ago. This Turbo has enjoyed extended warranty from 2012 through to 2018, ensuring all work has been carried out regardless of cost.

THE DRIVE & ENGINE

The Mezger derived, 3.6 ltr Twin Turbo, flat six is instantly recognisable on start up, and settles to a steady idle. The engine is smooth and civilised when required, however sparks into life with the press of a pedal to unleash the incredible performance on tap. Sure-footed stability and confidence inspiring four-wheel drive system ensures that even the less experienced Porsche driver can still exploit the capabilities that these superb 911’s have to offer.

While the original is available if required, a full stainless steel Fabspeed exhaust system not only saves weight and adds an additional 20bhp, but adds audible drama and excitement, a welcoming change to the standard exhaust. The Tiptronic S gearbox pulls through the gears without hesitation, with huge amounts of low down torque on offer. Obviously there is a “manual” gear selection option if desired, via the steering wheel mounted buttons or the gear-selector.

Although the 997 Turbo is water-cooled it is not the same engine that is in regular 997 Carrera models. The turbo charged engine can trace its ancestry back to the old air-cooled units and is directly related not only to the 996 GT3 but also the Lemans 911 GT1 racer (3.2 litres and 600bhp). The engine has forged internal components, so as a result it is very strong and can be tuned up to well over 800bhp. As standard the Turbo has 473bhp at 6,000rpm. The axle load distribution of 40:60 ensures high directional stability and superb road behaviour.

The all-wheel drive system is biased towards the rear; the system sends between 5% – 40% of torque forward depending on traction and power applied.

Our 911 Turbo is fitted with Sport Chrono Plus Package, which adds a SPORT button that sharpens the throttle response, adds 60nm of Torque temporarily (approximately 0.2 bar of Turbo Boost) whilst also adding a dashboard mounted stopwatch to add to the sporting image of the 911 Turbo.

A wonderful all-round prospect, power, pace, provenance and practicality. Expected to attract considerable interest.
