A very familiar environment for so many drivers, simple, yet completely functional. The headlining is still taught and unmarked. Optional full leather seats are supportive, adjustable and show no signs of wear or cracking. Likewise the dashboard and wooden door cappings, no fading or split varnish. Rear seats are also completely unmarked and appear virtually as new. Over-mats have protected the original carpets, so they remain totally intact.




Wheels are all deep dish Superlight 13”inch alloys, with virtually new, matching Yokahama A539 tyres, size 175/50R 13 72V.




First supplied to, and registered in Japan 01/12/1997, then repatriated by its only U.K. owner in early 2008, where it has remained in his care for the last 12 years.

The last service was carried out on 21/02/2020 which included plugs, oil change, coil pack, and new battery with 5 year guarantee. Front brake pads were replaced at 73,315 kms. Many of the exhaust components have also been replaced. The majority of original MOT certificates are available in the history file, and the current test runs until Feb 2021.

Powered by the famous BMC Austin A-plus series engine, with 1275cc and direct fuel injection, developing approx 63 hp driving the front wheels. Only weighing 1050kgs,
0 –60 mph can be achieved in 11.8 secs, with a top speed around 93 mph. Braking is provided by 213 mm discs at the front, with 178 mm drums at the rear.
The Cooper starts willingly and soon settles to a smooth idle. On the move, the direct steering and confident road holding, matched by the exhaust notes purposeful burble help guarantee an enjoyable driving experience.
The clutch is light and moving through the 4 speed manual box is a joy.
