V.W. GOLF GTi – MK11
Full service records-MAJORITY MAIN DEALER dating back to 1992. (Includes original factory build sheet)
For the age of the Golf, it is well appointed with modern features some of which include, electric windows x 4, heated rear window, sun-roof, power steering, adjustable door mirrors, and 6 speaker stereo systems, with electric aerial fitted, space-saver wheel, jack and tool kit, 15” inch alloys.
The wonderful dark luster of the L94E, Oak Green Metallic, must be the quintessential choice for all discerning enthusiasts of the 80’s/90’s era.
This “Big Bumper” example presents to a very high standard having been fastidiously cared for by its long term, lady owner. There is extensive historic evidence of body-protection treatments having been carried out in the past, potentially, even from factory.
This can be seen in several of the notoriously more vulnerable areas around the car, in the form of “over-spill” and seepage which has now solidified over many years, and left a waxy residue.
Tailgate, inner wings, scuttle, doors and sills all remain in a fine condition having benefited from this vital attention.
There are also no defects to be found around the petrol filler cap or the sun-roof, again, both vulnerable areas.
Panel gaps are excellent, with only very minor evidence around the car to indicate both age and mileage.
All glass, lenses, rubber seals and bumpers are in excellent condition.
The familiar surroundings are both practical and functional with quality built in as standard.
Headlining is taut and clean. Dashboard, free from cracks or scratches. All switches function as intended. We have left the period Nokia handset attached, just as a novel glance back to the past (Obviously not functional!).
The boot space is dry, housing the space-saver wheel, tyre, tool kit and jack.
Rear parcel shelf is present and in good order, not creased or broken, like so many we see.
All seats are still firm and supportive, unmarked, and with little wear, except for, the very common, small area on driver’s seat bolster.
Steering wheel, instruments, gear selector and gaiter are all excellent.
WHEELS & TYRES
Matching Continental Conti Premium Contact 2’s all round.
185/55/R15 all with plenty of generous tread, 5mm+ on average. Perfect condition, no cuts or un-even wear patterns.
Wheels are 5 x genuine German 15”inch, BBS Lattice alloy, clean and in good condition, with no cracks or welds.

THE DRIVE & ENGINE
The engine is the transverse, four cylinder, 1.8 cc 8v, L/82KW – T3E mated to a manual 5 speed transmission.
Having been main dealer maintained from new, the engine, as you would expect, performs to its optimum capabilities.
Start up is immediate and smoke free, with a satisfying and familiar rasp from the exhaust. Settling into a wonderful deep burble, synonymous with the Gti.
Out on the road, gear shift sweetly, though now power assisted, steering is still precise and direct, the USP of the Gti. Cornering, turn-in, and power out are simply a joy, as all former owner can attest.
Braking, via discs and pads all round, is more than adequate for such a light and nimble vehicle.
The chassis is stiff enough to enjoy, yet compliant when required, all suspension is original standard. No up-grades here, thankfully.
On provenance alone, this Gti must surely be worthy of serious consideration.
